What does the term "ConseJefa" mean?
ConseJefa is a play on words/made up word coming from the Spanish word "Consejera" meaning "Counselor" and "Jefa" meaning boss. It honors Dra. Vaquera's training in the counseling profession, her Latinidad and serves as a personal reminder that she has been the "boss" of her life to shape its trajectory.
Is your focus only on first-generation students?

How do I know if I need a coach?
Hiring a coach is a personal choice and not everyone will need one. Someone might hire a coach if they struggle with researching colleges and programs, need support with organization, do not know where to begin, do not have time to start the process, or may benefit from one-on-one support that is more individualized and personalized.
What qualifications does Dra. Vaquera possess?
Founder & CEO, Dra. Aimee Vaquera, brings over 10 years of expertise in California higher education pathways, career planning for undocumented students, emotional intelligence coaching, and program development. She is certified in administering and assessing Emotional Intelligence using the EQ-i assessment and holds four degrees (associates through doctorate - all debt-free).
