Dra. Aimee Vaquera

Counselor. Educator. Coach. Advocate.
Hello, hola, welcome!
I'm your ConseJefa, Dra. Vaquera! As a first-generation everything, because let's be honest, that title carries on even post-graduation, I faced many of the struggles that most first-generation students face when lacking navigational capital. I saw and felt the impacts of the hidden curriculum and learned from the many mistakes I made along the way. I knew I wanted to continue my education but the process was unclear and complex to me. Regardless of the confusion I felt, I made sure to be intentional, strategic and mindful. Every journey was different and life-changing. However, I could not have done it without my support system.

ConseJefa Consults is a direct result of my desire and passion to support first-generation students navigate advanced degree options and make informed decisions about this journey. The inspiration derived from my strong support system further informs what I know to be true about the positive impacts a strong network of people has on one's educational trajectory.

Now I not only support students directly but I also work with institutions of higher education and non-profits that are on the same or similar mission. So, whether you are a student aspiring to continue your education or you work for students and wish to support them further, I invite you to see how we can work together!
